| UWL has been operating on the lower Arrow Lakes since April, 1994. Originally, we started in Nakusp and now we are located above the Hugh Keenleyside Dam in Castlegar BC, Canada. We use the latest state-of-the-art technology, including side-scan sonar, sector scan and GPS mapping to salvage 50 to 60 cubic meters of logs per day, or the equivalent of two truck loads and deliver them to Celgar and Pope and Talbot | |

Underwater logging is fairly new, but the potential is high. It is estimated that nearly one million acres of standing timber have been submerged behind hydro dams in British Columbia alone. | |

There is a substantial opportunity awaiting the hard-working entrepreneur, with the capital, skill and patience to harvest these treasures of the deep. The overall value of cut timber underwater ranges from about $200 million to $1 billion. 30-40% of the wood can be used for pulp and 60-70% for saw logs. Underwaterlogging-Ltd has made several trips to Venezuela, Panama and Nicaragua to investigate the possibility of expanding the business to the lakes and rivers of South America. We have found large amounts of wood in the water systems either due to dam construction , where forest have been submerged and preserved , or to sinking as the wood was transported to the mill for processing. Talks with officials in these countries are ongoing and we are confident that soon Underwater Logging-Ltd. will be harvesting wood outside of Canada once again.
